ACTS Retirement Sued Over Data Breach of Employee Personal Info

ACTS Retirement Services Inc. faces a proposed class action in federal court in Pennsylvania over a data breach that compromised the sensitive personal information of thousands of its current and former employees.

Cara-Aimee Long Corra sued ACTS Tuesday, claiming that the assisted living servicer was negligent in securing employee information, which allowed cyber criminals to infiltrate ACTS’ network in April.

The complaint, filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, says that employees’ names, Social Security numbers, financial account information, and routing numbers were compromised from the breach.
