Access Sports Medicine Sued Over Hack Exposing Patients’ Data

Medical provider Access Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics PLLC negligently didn’t take necessary steps to protect its patients’ health information, leading to a May breach that exposed the data of nearly 90,000 people, a proposed class action said.

Access Sports failed to encrypt patients’ sensitive data or delete it after it was no longer needed, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the District New Hampshire.
