Accenture Must Face Claims Over Marriott Reservations Hack (1)

Accenture Plc‘s U.S. unit must face consumer claims over a hack of Marriott International Inc.‘s reservations after a federal judge rejected the consulting firm’s bid to dodge liability.

The claims accuse Accenture of negligence in supporting Marriott’s data security efforts. A cyber attack on Marriott’s Starwood database exposed data on up to 500 million guests between 2014 and 2018.

The Maryland District Court denied dismissal for all but one claim made against Accenture in a Tuesday filing.
