Accellion Inc. must face consolidated litigation over data breaches arising from cyberattacks on its file-transfer software used by government agencies, hospitals, universities, law firms, financial institutions, and private companies, a federal court said.
The class action alleged that cyberattacks in 2020 and 2021 on the file-transfer software led to the exposure of information held by Accellion’s clients, including consumers’ names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, state identification numbers, bank-account information, employment information, and personal health information.
