Abbott Adds Enhanced Data Notices After Privacy Watchdog Review

Abbott Laboratories implemented changes to its data collection disclosures and conducted an audit of its mobile applications following review from the Digital Advertising Accountability Program, a privacy watchdog affiliated with BBB National Programs Inc.

The medical devices and health care company agreed to add an enhanced notice link to each of its websites that leads to a disclosure about targeted advertising and a consumer opt-out tool, according to the Tuesday decision from the program.

Abbott also decommissioned a mobile app that was conducting third-party data collection for interest-based advertising.
