$7.5M TCPA Class Deal With iYogi Gains First OK

A federal court Oct. 6 gave intial approval to a $7.5 million settlement, while concurrently certifying a class of nearly 200,000 current and former subscribers of iYogi Inc. technology support who alleged the company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by utilizing “aggressive sales tactics” for renewals, including continuing to place calls to individuals who had asked to be taken off of the call list (Estrada v. iYogi, Inc., E.D. Cal., 2:13-cv-01989-WBS-CKD, settlement preliminary approval 10/6/15).
