E-cigarettes will stay on the market during the Covid-19 emergency despite Democratic lawmakers’ concerns that vaping could exacerbate the illness.
The House Oversight Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy said Friday that the Food and Drug Administration told committee leaders it’s still weighing the evidence to decide whether vaping is a risk factor for coronavirus. In early April, the director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse warned that people with lung damage from vaping have a higher risk of severe Covid-19 symptoms and death.
