A hip-implant recipient and his wife obtained a $4.5 verdict against Wright Medical Technology Inc. despite the man’s osteoporosis and two failed previous hip replacements, the plaintiffs’ attorney told Bloomberg BNA (Warner v. Wright Medical Tech. Inc., Cal. Super. Ct., BC475958, verdict 6/12/15).
“The significance of this verdict is that even on these facts we were able to prove, when we did our analysis, that the product was manufactured defectively,” attorney Steven Vartazarian said.
