U.S. Works With Brazil Probe of Medical Giants, Prosecutors Say

U.S. authorities are working with Brazil on an investigation into alleged bribery involving some of the world’s largest companies, Brazil’s federal prosecution office in Rio de Janeiro said.

Washington has been cooperating with prosecutors in Rio to investigate an alleged medical-supplies fraud that involves General Electric Co., Royal Philips NV, Johnson & Johnson and other medical-equipment makers, the office said in a statement.

The Brazilian agency declined to comment further as investigations are ongoing. Reuters reported earlier May 17 that prosecutors were working with the FBI and also named Siemens AG among the companies targeted in the probe. The U.S. ...
