Two men who pleaded guilty to a conspiracy to submit false claims to Medicare and Medicaid for medically unnecessary durable medical equipment that was never provided to patients have been sentenced in federal court.
The US District Court for the Southern District of Florida sentenced Eduardo Perez de Morales and Enrique Sampeiro each to 48 months in prison with three years’ supervised release. They are also jointly and severally liable for $11.7 million in restitution.
