People with higher amounts of a well-known type of PFAS were more likely to get thyroid cancer than other individuals, according to a study by physicians and scientists.
Higher concentrations of linear perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) increased risk of thyroid cancer 56% in a study of more than 160 individuals to be published on Tuesday in eBioMedicine, one of the Lancet journals.
