Federal authorities have seized 44 websites advertising illegal vaping cartridges containing THC, the component of cannabis that produces a high and is linked to an outbreak of vape-related lung illnesses.
Most of the websites appear to be financial scams that don’t actually sell THC vapes to whoever buys them, the Food and Drug Administration and Drug Enforcement Administration found. So far no official who purchased a product as part of a sting has received any of the product they ordered, and none of the products advertised has been firmly linked to any of the vape-related lung illness cases.
