Sutter Health Retirement Plan Fee Suit Settles for $4.3 Million

Sutter Health signed a $4.3 million class settlement with workers challenging the target-date funds in the California health-care system’s retirement plan.

The proposed deal would benefit about 73,000 people covered by Sutter’s plan since July 2014, plan participants said in a motion for settlement approval filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of California. The settlement amount is a “favorable recovery in view of the range of realistically achievable recoveries,” one of their attorneys said in a declaration filed along with the motion.
