Vaccinations for younger school-age children could ramp up quickly in the U.S. once federal authorities clear Pfizer Inc.’s Covid-19 shot, but getting parents on board will be critical for a successful rollout.

The Food and Drug Administration on Friday authorized Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE’s vaccine for children ages 5 to 11, which could become available as early as next week if it clears the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Even if shots are available immediately upon CDC clearance, a large majority of parents still have perceived concerns about the vaccines.
