Shire Plc Chief Financial Officer Jeff Poulton plans to leave at the end of the year, departing as the drugmaker explores spinning off its large neuroscience business to focus on potentially lucrative treatments for rare diseases.
Poulton will join Indigo Ag Inc., a Boston agricultural-technology startup, as finance chief, but continue in his current role as the board starts a search for his successor, Shire said Aug. 21 in a statement. The 49-year-old CFO had been in the job since April 2015, after serving on an interim basis for several months.
