Scientists Who Harass Should Lose Federal Grants: Lawmaker

Engaging in sexual harassment should disqualify scientists from receiving federally funded grants, the chairman of the House Science Committee said Feb. 27.

“No taxpayer dollars should be awarded to a university researcher who engages in harassment and inappropriate behavior toward a colleague or student under their charge,” Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas) said. “All scientific research is undermined if misconduct is allowed to go unchallenged.”
