School Encouragement Linked to More Kids Covid-19 Vaccinations

Schools play an influential role in encouraging Covid-19 vaccinations for kids, according to a Kaiser Family Foundation poll released Thursday.

The findings come a little more than a month after the Food and Drug Administration authorized a lower dose version of Pfizer-BioNTech’s Covid-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11. About 5 million of the 28 million eligible children in that age group have received their first shot, White House coronavirus response coordinator Jeff Zients said Tuesday. But vaccination rates have varied widely among states.
