Sandoz Inc. June 5 announced that it is conducting a voluntary recall of 10 lots of its generic oral contraceptive Introvale (levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol) tablets in the United States, following a recent report of a packaging flaw.
The probability of this packaging flaw causing serious adverse health consequences is remote, the Germany-based company said. Each three-month blister card of Introvale contains 84 peach-colored active tablets and seven white placebo tablets. The recall was ordered after a consumer reported that the white placebo tablets were in the wrong position.
