Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) doubled down Monday on a drug pricing vow that could increase the hurdles that President Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the National Institutes of Health must surmount to secure the top medical research post.

The chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee released a report that looked at the costs of drugs and other medical devices that relied on NIH funding and called on the agency to reinstate a clause that companies must set reasonable prices when they license NIH inventions.
