Russia Approves New Policy To Regulate Controlled Medications

MOSCOW—Russian authorities adopted new rules that govern the distribution of all controlled medications.

On April 19, the federal government released Decree No. 342 to regulate controlled substance medications. The decree allowed the Health Ministry to approve lists of controlled medications subject to new reporting requirements, according to the government press service’s statement. Decree No. 342 is aimed at countering nonmedical use of these medications, it said.

Article 3 of the decree also allowed the Health Ministry to adopt registration rules for transactions involving controlled substance medications. Decree No. 342, dated April 15, takes effect June 25.
