Rule Clarifies Louisiana Tumor Registry Reporting

The Louisiana State University System, State University Health Sciences Centers, Dec. 20, 2009, issued a final rule that amends regulations under 48 LAC V.8501 through .8513 regarding the Louisiana Tumor Registry.

The rule clarifies reporting requirements, defines how pathology laboratories will report new cases, and authorizes the reporting of cancer data for special studies. The rule also updates the list of required data items, allows the linking of the tumor registry database with outside databases, clarifies data release policies and interstate data exchange agreements, and adjusts the cost of reimbursement when the tumor registry must abstract cases at noncompliant facilities. ...
