BIOTERRORISM RESPONSE FUNDING TO GET HOUSE VOTE
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy has scheduled a vote today on legislation to reauthorize programs for protecting the nation from pandemics and bioterrorist attacks.
The vote comes just days before these programs expire Sept. 30. If enacted, the bill (H.R. 6378) would mark the second reauthorization of a 2006 law that covers Department of Health and Human Services programs to address naturally occurring health emergencies like the Zika and Ebola viruses as well as bioterrorist threats like the 2001 anthrax attacks.
