Philips issues a voluntary recall notification for the Panorama 1.0T HFO magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, systems due to a potential magnet quench hazard, according to an emailed statement.
- Philips says there have been zero reports of injury or serious harm to date
- “there has been one report of system and property damage, which occurred during a decommissioning magnet quench procedure where Philips guidelines were reportedly not followed”
- There are approximately 340 Panorama units globally
- 150 units are in the US; all US customers with Panorama systems have been notified
