The U.S. pharmaceutical industry’s main lobbying group can’t press ahead for now with its lawsuit challenging California’s strict drug price transparency law.
A federal court ruled Aug. 30 the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America didn’t show it has legal standing to sue the state in an attempt to upend S.B. 17, a law enacted last October that requires pharmaceutical companies to notify insurers and government health plans 60 days in advance of a price increase above a certain threshold and provide a rationale for it.
