A new pandemic preparedness bill broadly intended to avoid problems that popped up with Covid-19 raises questions about the HHS agency tasked with overseeing the national stockpile and the unit’s overall ability to respond to a public health emergency.
The measure calls for a number of changes to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including that the head of the agency be confirmed by the Senate.
