Advance Pharmaceutical Inc. Jan. 17 announced that it is conducting a voluntary nationwide recall of one lot of ferrous sulfate 325 mg tablets because bottles in this lot may actually contain meclizine hydrochloride 25 mg tablets.
Meclizine hydrochloride is the generic version of Pfizer’s Antivert, which is indicated for managing nausea, vomiting, and dizziness associated with motion sickness. Ferrous sulfate is used to treat iron deficiency.
The lot was manufactured and packaged in 100-count bottles by Advance Pharmaceutical under the label of Rugby Natural Iron Supplement Ferrous Sulfate, the Holtsville, N.Y.-based company said. The lot number is 12G468.
