AUSTIN, Texas—A state court jury in Oklahoma May 11 found Botox manufacturer Allergan Inc. negligent and awarded $15 million to a woman who alleged she suffered from botulism symptoms after being injected with the cosmetic treatment (Helton v. Allergan Inc.).
The jury in the Oklahoma District Court, Oklahoma County, rejected plaintiff Sharla Helton’s strict liability claims for failure to warn and manufacturing defect, but found for the plaintiff on her negligence claims.
