New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) has asked a federal court to bounce a lawsuit filed by an out-of-state mental health counselor who alleges that the state’s licensing law violates her free speech rights.
The case could help define the boundaries of remotely provided health-care related services, which often run up against state licensing requirements. It’s an issue that became especially relevant during the pandemic, when access to in-person services was limited.
