US metro regions can vie for two of three biomedical innovation headquarters under a new bid from President Joe Biden’s agency designed to speed breakthroughs in medicine and health.
The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, or ARPA-H, announced Wednesday the Washington region will serve as the first of three hubs for the agency, and that it’s opened up site solicitation to find the remaining two. The agency plans to announce those sites by the fall. The three sites will serve as the main centers for a hub-and-spoke model of ARPA-H locations.
