The Food and Drug Administration approved 15 abbreviated new drug applications (ANDAs) for generic versions of Aricept (donepezil hydrochloride) May 31, according to FDA’s website.
The branded medication, a product of Eisai Inc., is used to treat mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s-type dementia. All the generics that were approved are for donepezil hydrochloride (HCl) in 5 mg and 10 mg strengths.
