Home health agencies would receive an estimated 1.8% increase in their payments from Medicare in 2022 under a proposed rule released Monday by the Trump administration.
The proposed rule (RIN 0938-AU37) from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services also seeks to accelerate the shift to value-based care, a system that reimburses medical providers based on quality of care rather than volume. The proposal outlines a nationwide expansion of the Home Health Value-Based Purchasing Model to create incentives to improve care. The model currently has participants in nine states.
