Medicare Increases Payments for In-Home Covid-19 Vaccinations

Health-care providers can now receive enhanced payments from Medicare for providing Covid-19 vaccinations to multiple beneficiaries in a single home or in a communal home setting, the Biden administration announced Monday.

Medical personnel can receive the enhanced payment of $35 up to five times when fewer than 10 Medicare beneficiaries get the jab on the same day in the same home or communal location. The move is designed to increase Covid-19 vaccinations—both second and third doses—among at-risk patients in smaller group homes, assisted living facilities, and other group living situations, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services said.
