Levaquin Maker Found Not Liable For Tendon Harm Despite Failure to Warn

ST. PAUL, Minn.—Johnson & Johnson notched a trial win Jan. 26, as a federal jury in Minnesota found it not liable for a man’s tendon injuries in a Levaquin case (Straka v. Johnson & Johnson, D. Minn., No. 08-5742).

The jury in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota found that although Johnson & Johnson failed to provide the plaintiff’s physician with reasonably adequate warnings about the links between the antibiotic Levaquin (levofloxacin) and serious tendon injuries in the elderly, its failure to warn was not responsible for Clifford Straka’s injuries.
