Lawmakers to Opioid Drugmakers: Show Us Your Records (1)

Representatives on a House committee are requesting records related to opioid sales by three major drugmakers: Insys Therapeutics, Purdue Pharma, and Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals.

Each of the three letters lists lawsuits or media reports outlining aggressive marketing practices, which the committee says may have contributed to the opioid epidemic in the U.S. The letters were sent Aug. 2 to the CEOs of each company.
