Kentucky Abortion Provider Asks to Join Second Kentucky Suit

The only provider in Kentucky that performs abortions after the 14th week of pregnancy asked a federal judge to allow it to join a Planned Parenthood affiliate’s suit to have a new state abortion law that bans abortions after 15 weeks declared invalid.

EMW Women’s Surgical Center PSC recently lost an attempt to add its own claims against HB 3 to an earlier lawsuit that challenged laws banning abortions after six weeks or when based on a prohibited reason, such as the fetus’s sex, race, or prenatal diagnosis of a genetic abnormality.
