House Panel Will Aggressively Pursue Drug Costs, New Chair Says

Pharmaceutical executives will likely face congressional scrutiny about drug prices as a key House lawmaker promises an “aggressive oversight agenda” on health-care costs.

“The top thing we want to do in the Democratic Congress, with the new majority, is to look at making health care more accessible and more affordable for more Americans,” Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.) said during a health policy press briefing Jan. 16. “You’re going to be seeing an aggressive oversight agenda around this.”
