HHS Allocates Over $88 Million to Youth Mental Health Programs

The Department of Health and Human Services has awarded over $88 million to grant programs to develop school-based mental health programs and to increase access to substance use disorder treatments, the HHS said Friday.

The largest award, $42.2 million, was allocated for Project Advancing Wellness and Resiliency in Education to support school-based services and promote youth social development.

Additional awards include the National Child Traumatic Stress Initiative, which received $17.5 million, and the Transforming Lives Through Supported Employment program, which was given $4.6 million, the agency said.
