GSK, Plaintiffs Agree to Settle Suits Alleging Drug Caused Birth Defects

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has agreed to confidential settlements in about 200 lawsuits by families who alleged the mothers’ use of the antidepressant Paxil (paroxetine) during pregnancy caused birth defects in their children (In re Paxil Pregnancy Cases).

The suits were part of consolidated proceedings in the Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County. Following settlement, they were dismissed from the docket by Judge Sandra Mazer Moss.
