Several individuals and groups March 5 sued the Food and Drug Administration for failing to take action to address concerns about mercury in dental fillings (International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology, Inc. v. FDA).
The lawsuit stems from allegations that the FDA failed to respond within a reasonable time to five petitions regarding dental amalgams, in violation of the Administrative Procedure Act.
