Georgia Pitches Partial Medicaid Expansion With Work Rules (1)

Georgia would partially expand its Medicaid program and impose work requirements on those newly eligible under a proposal Gov. Brian Kemp (R) unveiled Nov. 4.

The state looks to join 11 others that have received federal approval for Medicaid work requirements since the start of 2018, although many of those programs are tied up in litigation. Six more states are waiting for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to grant their requests to impose work requirements, including neighboring Alabama and Tennessee.
