Francis S. Collins will stay on as NIH director under the Biden administration, making him one of the few biomedical agency directors to span three presidents.
“I’m pleased that President-Elect Biden has asked me to continue in my role as Director of the National Institutes of Health,” Collins said in a statement. “I am honored to continue to lead this great agency, especially at a time when NIH’s role in fighting this pandemic is so critical.”
