The American Academy of Pediatrics has sued the attorney general of Florida, saying state officials targeted it for its support of affirming care for transgender youth via an “unfounded suit” filed against the academy in December.
That suit “is a transparent and pretextual attempt to wield state power against ideological opponents in violation of the First Amendment and contrary to established medical science,” says the complaint, filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
