FDA Would Get Nearly $3B in Senate’s FY 2019 Funding Bill

The FDA would get $2.97 billion in fiscal year 2019 discretionary funding in a “minibus” appropriations bill the Senate passed Aug. 1, about $159 million over the current year’s enacted funding level.

The Food and Drug Administration’s funding is wrapped up in agriculture and rural development funding. The minibus (H.R. 6147) also included three other funding bills for the Environmental Protection Agency and Interior Department; the Transportation and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) departments; and the Financial Services department.
