Five more drug compounding pharmacies received FDA warning letters for problems that included insanitary manufacturing conditions and not having valid individual prescriptions.
The Food and Drug Administration has sent more than 40 warning letters to drug compounders in 2016 citing similar violations.
The FDA said in warning letters posted online Oct. 25 that inspectors found violations at the compounding pharmacies and said they appear to be producing drugs that violate the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA).
