Sagent Pharmaceuticals Inc. April 14 announced that the Food and Drug Administration has approved its generic version of Hoffman-La Roche’s Kytril (granisetron hydrochloride injection).
Kytril is an antiemetic used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, the Schaumburg, Ill.-based company said. The generic drug will be made available in 0.1 mg per mL and 1.0 mg per mL single-dose vials, and 4.0 mg per 4mL multi-dose vials.
Sagent said it expects to begin marketing the drug in the third quarter of 2010.
