The FDA recently approved generic versions of Valeant Pharmaceutical International Inc.'s testosterone replacement drug Testred and acne drug BenzaClin.
Impax Laboratories Inc. Sept. 22 said that the Food and Drug Administration has approved its generic version of Valeant’s Testred (methyltestosterone) 10 milligram capsules.
Testred is used to treat males with a testosterone deficiency.
U.S. brand sales of the product were about $14.5 million for the 12 months ended in July, according to the consulting firm IMS Health.
Impax is based in Hayward, Calif.
