Duke University Cancer Researcher Resigns Amid Issues With Credentials, Methodologies

RALEIGH, N.C.—A Duke University researcher has resigned following allegations he embellished his resumé and used flawed assumptions in cancer studies he was leading, the university announced Nov. 19.

According to the announcement, Dr. Anil Potti voluntarily resigned from his positions as associate professor of medicine at the Duke University School of Medicine and the university’s Institute for Genome Sciences & Policy. The three cancer trials in which Potti was involved have been closed, the university said.
