A statutorily-mandated Labor Department advisory board on employee benefits issues has gone dormant for over a year under the Trump administration with no signs it will spring back to life.
The Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans, known as the ERISA Advisory Council, has not held a meeting since December 2024, three sources close to the panel said. Five of its 15 members left the council when their terms expired at the end of 2025, but the DOL has not put forward any appointments to fill those vacancies, they confirmed.
