A Christian doctor who accused a hospital of improperly terminating him over his refusal to take the Covid-19 vaccine had his claims dismissed with prejudice by a federal court.
“Imposing a vaccination requirement is a lawful condition of employment, especially in the healthcare field,” Judge R. Barclay Surrick, of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said Thursday. Describing the consequences of failing that requirement doesn’t state a retaliation claim under Title VII or the ADA, and the mandate “does not violate an implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing,” he said.
