DRUG, DEVICE MAKERS HIT BY CALIFORNIA PRIVACY LAW

California frequently is a trendsetter for the rest of the nation, and that may prove to be the case again with a recently passed consumer privacy law.

The California Consumer Privacy Act not only gives consumers the right to know how much of their personal data is being collected by companies, but it also provides them the right to have it deleted upon request.

The law could have an enormous impact on pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers who collect large amounts of personal data to develop new products.
